Pros and Cons of using online press release service

Press release has become a popular form of content marketing.  Online news outlets provide great content marketing channels for all businesses to publish their own news.  Many online PR service providers even own their "microwire" websites to provide extra exposure and SEO backlinks.

However, the problem of those self-built sites are more than the sheer benefits they bring.

1. Low domain authority

Most of those microwire sites have low domain authority of 0 to 1.  The SEO benefit is almost non-existent.

2. Low daily visits

One of the reasons that you pay money to publish news release is because the service provider list out a bunch of  "news like" websites that will publish your news.  But many of them have very poor visits per day (or even none!) and they are counted as news channels by the service provider none the less!

3. Low news value

When a piece of news appear on the above-mentioned "microwire" sites, it actually lowers the credibility of the press release.  Those press releases never get to syndicate with other known news sites, but only circulate within the countless sites that the service provider owns.  It is better to appear on 1 big news site than to appear on 1000 never-heard-of microwire sites.

Is there something in the middle?

Big news wire companies charge a large sum for a press release.  This is the only reason that many people choose the cheap online PR service.  However, those cheap online news release sites provide none to existent news value.

The good news is that there is a golden way.
